FARMHOUSE GARDEN

Relocated borders and lawns now view the gentle Thomas Hardy landscapes

The client had recently dismantled part of a large dairy barn freeing up space for a new garden area. This had been partly cultivated and planted over the last few years but without any relationship to the rest of the garden or distant views. A meeting on a beautiful sunny evening revealed the possibilities for views through semi transparent grasses and the existing abundance of , self seeded annuals creeping across the rubbly, gravel floor of the farmyard. The space seemed instantly suited for a seating area to watch the sun go down across the distant fields towards the west.  The clients have a good plant knowledge, collecting seed and propagating cuttings but needed help to bring together the different garden rooms surrounding the farmhouse. A more cohesive arrangement of space linked together rooms with new paths and hedge boundaries. The clients can now fully enjoy the view morning and night.
